The Lazy Kind

(Never adjourn or ever mourn.)

so now, today, we hesitate
lethargic, we procrastinate
we opt to leave a deed undone
lay unfinished some work begun

we drag our feet in indolence
and dally for the next time hence
or wait for chance in apathy
and bear the yoke of lethargy

whatever we defer today
tomorrow, high a price we pay
the matter we today postpone
tomorrow, we may but atone

to make the most, never adjourn
or lose the chance, forever mourn
why put off when we can put on?
why tarry when we can move on?

for lassitude is really vice
by fortitude be truly wise
the idle mind, the lazy kind
are left behind, by all mankind!

- between
lassitude and fortitude
is attitude.
