love me now or love me never
while Time is on our side
take me now to hold forever
before the turn of tide.

love me true while the sky is blue
tomorrow may be late
for seasons change the heaven’s hue
i won’t for so long wait.

not oft the sparrow comes to build
her nest upon a tree
think not that ever you can wield
your magic upon me.

love me not for my outward charm
not for material gain
for these may fail or cease to warm
would you love me, in pain?

for sure your beauty fades with Time
as leaves of autumn fall
but rest assured my love’s sublime
love me now, heed my call.
